About The Fees

The Castle Keep Residents’ Association (CKRA) is funded through annual fees registered on each property’s title. These fees are part of the community’s governing framework and help support the ongoing care, maintenance, and enhancement of neighbourhood features that are not provided by the City of Calgary.

Fees are invoiced annually and become a charge on your property title, ensuring the association has the funds needed each year to maintain community standards and protect property values. Payment is due June 1st, and covers the period from June 1st to May 31st.

The annual CKRA fee is used for the maintenance and enhancement of shared community features, including:

  • Entrance park located at 9298 14 Ave SW. Includes: the knight structure, stone feature wall, lighting and controls, irrigation, wood bench, stone pathway, shrubs/trees, surrounding landscaping, and city sidewalk snow removal.
  • Wood timber bridge located on Ascot Drive.
  • Community flags located on the timber bridge.
  • Median landscaping/flowers along Ascot Drive.
  • Mowing of the grass boulevards along 14 Avenue, Ascot Drive, Ascot Rise and Ascot Crescent.
  • The 18 planter containers throughout the community with summer and winter displays. Includes: maintenance and watering throughout the seasons.
  • Seasonal holiday lights at the main entrance park.
  • Administrative services: community website, management/accounting, annual audit, and insurance.

For 2026, the Castle Keep Residents’ HOA fee is $241.50 per residential unit, including GST.

Annual Fee Collection

The Association has a strict policy for unpaid fees. Homeowners who do not pay receive an invoice or statement, including any applicable interest and administrative charges. If payment is not received, the account may be referred to the Association’s lawyer for collection, with any legal costs added to the homeowner’s balance. In extreme cases, unpaid fees and associated legal costs could lead to foreclosure proceedings.

Payments are applied to the oldest charges first. Once an account has been sent to collections, payment must be made directly to the lawyer as outlined in their correspondence.

The Association encourages all homeowners to keep accounts current to avoid legal action and additional costs.
